Streame

Available on site to us at Streame are: ​

  • 2 furlong circular Wexford Sand gallop

  • 50 feet rubber-lined ODON Lunge Arena

  • ODON Heavy Duty 6-bay horse walker with Easyfix rubber brick floor

  • 4 furlong straight uphill grass gallop

Rehab Pen
EMcC Racing Evanna McCutcheon - Grazing Solo
  • 2 kilometer perimeter boundary track – ideal for conditioning work, without needing access to busy public roads

  • 30 acres of grass turnout with various sized paddocks – from 18 feet ODON Field Pen for rehab patients to larger fields for longer spells of turnout

  • Freshwater stream access which acts as a natural “spa” – soothing and cooling the legs post-exercise

  • Weighbridge – Horses are weighed every Monday and before and after racing. This information can contribute towards working out when they are most athletically efficient and also in monitoring systematic stress, recovery and development rates.

Swimming

Within close proximity, we also have access to: ​

  • Spring fed natural swimming pool – an excellent facility for non-weight bearing exercise and also serves as an alternative for horses post-race or after fast work

  • Willie Browne’s Grangebarry Gallops – a 5-furlong woodchip gallop located just 2 1/2 miles from the yard

  • Gannon’s Hill, Johnstown – a 7-furlong stiff uphill woodchip gallop, running alongside a 5-furlong grass gallop

  • Lisbunny Schooling Gallops, our family-owned facility. A 1-mile grass circuit hosts schooling gallops over various distances

In terms of location it doesn’t get much better as our proximity to key motorways (M8/M7) allows us quick access to great racecourses such as The Curragh, Tipperary and Thurles.

VIEW OUR SERVICES

Breaking and
Pre-Training

We offer your horse the right start to their race season, preparing them both physically and mentally for the challenges that full-time training may bring.

Training

Some horses simply thrive better in a less intense environment and your horse may just benefit from a change of scenery.

Rehabilitation

We have successfully rehabilitated horses who have suffered tendon injuries, fractures, colic, and EIPH (bleeding).

Retirement

Here at EMcC Racing, we aim wherever possible to ensure that our horses go on to enjoy second careers after they have finished racing.
